Remembrance Meeting

Every Sunday from 11:00am – 12:15pm.

Sometimes referred to as ‘The Remembrance Meeting’ or ‘The Breaking of Bread’, this is the occasion when the Christians gather specifically to remember the Lord Jesus in His death on the cross. In Luke 22:19-20 The Lord Jesus Christ commanded His disciples to keep this ordinance “in remembrance of Me”.

Carrying on from this, as recorded in the Acts of the Apostles, Christians carried out this service regularly on the first day of the week (Acts 20:7). Every Sunday morning we continue to obey this command and gather to remember the Lord Jesus Christ.

While every meeting of the local church is important, the Remembrance Meeting is especially significant. Every Christian in our fellowship partakes of the physical symbols of the bread and the cup – they symbolise the body and blood of the Lord Jesus Christ as given for us at Calvary. The Bible describes this as a “proclamation” In this way we proclaim His death until He returns to take all Christians to heaven (1 Corinthians 11:26).

While participation is for those Christians in fellowship, all are welcome to come and observe. Letters of Commendation appreciated.
